I really like the composition of the 3rd image.
I found with my succulent photos that I had to play with the tone alot (add some more black) to really get a good range of tones across the image. May I suggest you do the same for your first 2 images? I think you’ll like the change it…[Read more]

It wasn’t so much a technique as playing around!
I had a 60mm Macro lens on. I set my camera to f8 and a 2 second exposure (on a tripod) and manually focused on the black backgroud. I set it off by timer and held a piece of cellophane in front of the lens and had a torch in my other hand and just flashed it around then quickly…[Read more]

nice, like the framing and the water movement.
The swirling and falling soft water in this image is amazing… such lovely forms and colours. Nicole and I have been discussing this image, and we stuggled with the where the forground rock meets the midground rock (just past the hole). You could raise the camera slightly higher when taking the photograph and put some more white space inbetween.…[Read more]
